How long does it take for something to go from a USPS distribution center in Dallas to my PO Box in Houston, which is about 250 miles away? I thought this would take 1 day — 2 days tops. Apparently I was wrong: it’s been almost 4 days and still no love.

I’ll never get the fancy new car stereo I ordered.

Working 40 hours a week is nice. Working 60 hours a week is even better, especially with 20 hours worth of “time-and-a-half”. So with that said, I’ve been in a spending mood lately, especially since my direct deposit is supposed to show up any minute.

So far I’ve bought a Beltronics RX65 radar detector, to replace my aging (and, well, crappy) “$30 after rebate” Cobra. It is supposed to get here either today or tomorrow. I’m looking forward to being able to drive even worse than I’m driving at the moment. Someone at work has a radar gun, so hopefully I’ll be able to give this thing a try once I get it… that would definitely be interesting.

I am also bidding on a new head unit for my car. I don’t like any of the aftermarket ones, so I’m going for an upgraded OEM version that has a CD player, and all that other nonsense. I’m still looking for a good local place who will install a stereo that I’m bringing in – I want to avoid chains like Best Buy and what have you, so it’s been difficult to find reviews of local joints. We’ll see what happens about that…
